Lower Macleay Trail Litter Cleanup & Nature Walk

Please join SOLVE and Naturalist Rebecca Lexa for a litter cleanup and trail walk at Lower Macleay Park! We will meet at the park trailhead for check-in and supply distribution. Volunteers will spend the first hour cleaning up litter in the surrounding neighborhood. After the first hour, we will meet back at check-in and walk along the Lower Macleay Trail together, where Rebecca will walk us through the local flora and fauna native to our backyard. We'll continue to pick up any litter we find along the way. 

This event is a wonderful opportunity to not only care for our environment together, but also to immerse ourselves in the forest and learn the names of the species we are caring for. We hope to see you there! 

Advanced Registration: Is highly suggested but not required. Please sign up (green button below) ahead of time to guarantee your spot.

Meeting Location: Volunteers will be meeting at Lower Macleay Park, at the left side of the roundabout near the bridge and covered picnic tables. Look for SOLVE tables and signs.

What to Bring: Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Feel free to bring your personal tools if available and a reusable water bottle to support our sustainability efforts.

What's Provided: Litter grabbers, gloves, safety vests, and trash bags will be provided.

Restrooms: Restrooms are available at the meeting location.

Parking: A very limited number of parking spots are available near the meeting location. Street parking is available on the road leading to the meeting location and in the surrounding neighborhood.

Transit: Take Trimet #24 to NW 23rd and Thurman, #26 to NW 27th and Thurman, #15 or #77 to NW Vaugh and 27th to access Lower Macleay Park.

Accessibility: This area is accessible for folks with mobility concerns.

Translation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event.
