About this Opportunity
Volunteer Drivers are needed to help deliver meals to homebound seniors or individuals with disabilities in the New Rochelle area. Meals On Wheels volunteers will meet at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital's visitor parking lot at Glover Johnson Place to pick up pre-packed boxes of meals as well as as the addresses where they'll deliver the meals. Deliveries are route-specific and they're designed to create a loop that conveniently begins and ends at the hospital to ensure that meal trays, coolers, and address folders are returned.
Meal delivery takes place at 11 a.m. every day and lasts about two hours (at most), and volunteers can choose which days and how frequently they make deliveries. Families and groups are welcome to express interest as a team! Volunteers are especially needed for weekday shifts, and community service hours can be provided if needed. Volunteer drivers MUST have a valid driver's license and insurance card.
