2023-2024 In-person BookPALS Reading Mentor Volunteers

Children's Literacy Network's in-person BookPALS program is returning this fall! The program will share the joy of reading and encouragement of reading confidence with local 2nd and 3rd grade students while practicing crucial literacy skills. The highly-loved program is in need of volunteers for the 2023-2024 school year that are available during the school day on a bi-monthly basis to be mentor readers to students. • Volunteers for BookPALS serve as reading mentors to small groups of 2nd and 3rd graders to motivate and encourage excitement around reading! All books and resources are provided, we just need YOU!
• We are looking for volunteers who are interested in going into schools to help us reach students. If you have availability on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesday morning/early afternoon, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
• Students will be pulled from their class for 30 minutes to read with you in a small group. Training is provided and no experience is necessary, just a kind heart and open mind.
