About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Finance & Compliance Lead to serve as the financial backbone of our marketplace platform. This role is ideal for someone with a startup mindset—comfortable setting up financial structure and governance from the ground up, without the bureaucracy of a corporate CFO environment. You’ll advise leadership on financial strategy, compliance, and efficient operational processes to ensure sustainable growth and clean financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage and optimize all financial systems, including Stripe, payouts, and accounting tools.
  • Governance & Structure: Establish standardized financial processes, approval limits, and reporting templates to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with local tax, data, and payout regulations, especially for cross-border transactions (U.S., Bali, Mexico).
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with legal and operations teams to align payment terms, refund policies, and host agreements.
  • Accounting & Reporting: Liaise with chartered accountants or external accounting firms to maintain accurate books and ensure timely tax filings.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and enforce robust internal controls—such as payout approvals, refund verifications, and transaction audits—to minimize financial risk.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide insights on financial models, cost optimization, and long-term sustainability strategies aligned with business growth.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or compliance, ideally within a startup, fintech, or marketplace platform.
  • Strong understanding of cross-border transactions, digital payments, and multi-currency operations.
  • Familiarity with financial and accounting tools (e.g., Stripe, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to build governance frameworks and streamline financial processes.
  • Knowledge of international tax compliance (especially U.S., Indonesia, and Mexico) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations and legal teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.

Why Join Us?

  • Innovative Projects: Work on cutting-edge projects that make a real impact.
  • Growth Opportunities: Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Collaborative Environment: Join a team of passionate and talented professionals.
  • Flexible Work: Enjoy a flexible work environment with options for remote work.
