About this Opportunity

The Christine B. Foundation is a Bangor-based service-providing nonprofit, striving to build a community of support for those affected by cancer.

The Cancer Nutrition Assistance program through CBF offers equitable access to grocery packages for patients with cancer, recent survivors, and their families.This program has supported 1300 Mainers across 250 towns thanks to hundreds of volunteers. This impact is equivalent to over 300,000 meals being delivered directly to patients with cancer.

Thanks to 100+ volunteers working in various parts of this effort, CBF remains to keep this service at no cost to recipients.

Food Supply Pick Up Driver:

The CBF is looking for volunteerFood Supply Pick Up Drivers topick up food products from various vendors in the Bangor region and unload at the CBF Bangor site. CBF orders food products from various partners and relies on volunteers to pick up and bring them to the Bangor distribution site.

Volunteer Role:

CBF is looking for a volunteer(s) who are comfortable lifting heavy objects (can be 40+ lbs), have reliable transportation, candrive a 9'cargo van, and can maintain the CBF mission with partner sites.

On Wednesday, from 7a-9:30a, the volunteer group would meet at the CBF office, pick up the CBF Cargo Van, and gatherorders from three-five locations (Brewer, Hampden, and Bangor). Once all orders are loaded into the vehicle, the driver will return the product to the CBF Bangor site and assist in unloading.
