Art From Ashes, INC

The Phoenix Rising poetry program provides opportunities for disadvantaged adolescents and young adults in Denver’s most vulnerable neighborhoods to communicate their struggles and to connect with others in safe, communal settings. Each workshop allows the youth to move through those experiences into a recognition that what they suffer is not who they are, the healing process is greatly enhanced through the power of words to enlighten and transform. Art from Ashes is founded on the core principles which constitute the Phoenix Rising process: Expression, Connection and Transformation.

Art from Ashes exists to empower struggling youth by providing creative programs that facilitate health and hope through expression, connection and transformation. Art from Ashes (AfA) is the first youth arts agency in Colorado to use a process of creative expression specifically designed to facilitate personal transformation. AfA's empowerment workshops transcend standard arts programming by encouraging some of our most neglected members of society to embrace their creative identity rather than one founded on negative experiences and circumstances.
