Shanti Bhavan Childrens Project

The Shanti Bhavan Children's Project operates a residential boarding school for children pre-K to 12th grade. Shanti Bhavan is accredited by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), one of India’s most robust academic curriculums, and administers the ICSE and ISC exams during students' 10th and 12th grades.

Shanti Bhavan’s mission is to fully develop the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children of India’s lowest caste by providing them world class education and globally shared values to enable them to aspire to careers and professions of their choice.   We strongly believe that the children of Shanti Bhavan, once educated and successful, will help their families and friends break out of the vicious cycle of economic destitution and become successful and productive members of society. A multitude of such successes will create a better and brighter future for the poor. As Abraham George, the founder of Shanti Bhavan has noted, “If one child is successful, he or she will carry a 1000 more forward.”
