About
Aquinas Literacy Center offers individualized instruction in the English language to the adult immigrant population of McKinley Park and surrounding areas (Bridgeport, Back of the Yards and Brighton Park) of Chicago. Through one-on-one tutoring, conversation classes, writing workshops, book clubs, computer learning opportunities and job assistance workshops, learners are able to improve their English-language literacy. Our goal is to enable our learners to transform their lives by acquiring skills to become successful parents, productive workers and responsible citizens. Our program, which free of cost, is facilitated through the generosity of trained, volunteer tutors. In FY2015, 172 adult learners participated in one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction.
