Our core, after-school program is for children in grades 3-8 from low-income families who are struggling with reading. We provide one-to-one, individualized instruction twice a week for a minimum of 10 weeks both in person and remotely.

READ 718 is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit providing individualized reading instruction and mentorship to low-income students in grades 3-8 who are reading below grade level. We know that strong literacy skills are essential for school success and lifelong learning, and that direct instruction is often necessary to support students' literacy development beyond the early grades. READ 718 aims to help all children achieve success by partnering students with a committed and trained volunteer in a safe, supportive environment.
