About

OPERATING PROGRAMS: SPONSOR-A-HORSE PROGRAM: Adults may sponsor a horse and maintain the horse as their own for as long as they choose to maintain their sponsorship. No experience is necessary as we try to match human ability to horses ability. Both the people and the horses will grow from the hands on interactions. Outcomes: 1. Horses in Florida are saved from needless destruction 2. People in community are able to be introduced to the joy of  horse interactions while being educated in the proper care of a horse so that rescue situations can often times be avoided when due to owner ignorance about proper care of equines. 3. Ongoing research opportunities for veterinarians and the universities that seek a better understanding of EIA and  hope to one day find a cure or vaccine.

Mission Statement

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. mission is to provide sanctuary to every horse we accept. F.R.I.E.N.D.S. does not buy, sell, trade or give away horses. Instead, we give them a lifetime of sanctuary so they will never be in pain or need of help again. We accept all carriers of Equine Infectious Anemia(EIA) within the state of Florida. We also accept any horse in immediate need of assistance in Broward County and surrounding areas. Our priority is to prevent the needless destruction of horses and to provide these noble animals with the dignity of allowing them to live out their lives while meeting their needs; providing them with the proper care and loving interactions they deserve. We offer various programs to the community with opportunities to learn about, care for & how to handle horses safely.
