About
SEEDS, is a STEAM based entrepreneurship education program for youth in Puerto Rico. Utilizing coffee, one of Puerto Rico’s most important and delicious resources, our year-long curriculum (prepared by the award-winning team at The Biz Nation) teaches public school children how to run an agri-business from the ground up. SEEDS allows students to tackle real-world business problems and engage in a mentorship program with leaders in business from on and off the island.
On August, 2020 the first harvest yielded fruit, graduating 83 entrepreneurs who launched 25 businesses with an ecological, self-sustaining approach ranging from artistic and culinary area to the manufacture of massive products. Discover their experience bellow:
Mission Statement
Friends of Puerto Rico is a non-profit 501(C)(3) that supports the economic development of the people of Puerto Rico through entrepreneurial initiatives, education, and creating opportunities for women and girls. Since 2015, we have mobilized a passionate community of over 30,000 global entrepreneurs, donors and partner organizations focused on driving economic success and innovation to cultivate the next generation of leaders. Through a combination of training, education and mentorship initiatives that utilize the beautiful culture, art and people of Puerto Rico, our goal is to end financial hardship and provide economic opportunities and self-sufficiency for people on the island, in Washington, DC and around the United States.
