Mission Statement
As the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research, the Alzheimer's Association has accelerated research, advanced public policy, and driven quality care and support across communities since our inception in 1979, with particular progress over the last 10 years. This has led to scientific breakthroughs, significant federal funding and greater concern about the disease.
The Association works to provide care and support for all those affected by Alzheimers and all other dementia. We are here to help.
- Our free nationwide 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) is staffed by masters-level clinicians and specialists;
- We conduct face-to-face and virtual support groups and education programs in communities nationwide;
- Our education programs for the general public, both online and in person, feature information on topics such as diagnosis, warning signs, communication, living with Alzheimers disease and caregiving;
- We educate our nation's lawmakers on the Alzheimer's crisis and engage them in our efforts to fight the disease and more.
Our volunteers are passionate, inspired and want to make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia in our communityfrom planning an event to hosting a support group, spreading awareness, advocating for Alzheimers legislation, or providing office support, there are many ways to get involved.
