About

Since 1968, Bethesda Help, Inc. has been providing critical safety net services - food assistance and limited financial assistance - to those in need who reside within our service area, which includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Kensington, and parts of Potomac, Silver Spring, and Wheaton. Bethesda Help also provides referrals to other agencies who can assist with shelter, clothing, or other needs.

Mission Statement

Bethesda Help is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, governed by a Board of Directors. Daily operations are overseen by a Management Teamand supported by all other volunteers. Over 60 volunteers support our mission. We respond to families in crisis due to food or financial insufficiency by providing:

  • Delivery of a 3-day supply of shelf-stable food for each member of the household
  • Limited financial assistance for rent or utilities
  • Full or partial payment for prescriptions for those who cant afford them
  • Referrals to other government or non-profit agencies in Montgomery County
