About
Book-It Repertory Theatre's mission is to transform great literature into great theatre through simple and sensitive production and to inspire our audiences to read.
From our origins 29 years ago as a passionate group of volunteer artists adapting short stories for performance and touring them throughout the Northwest, Book-It has matured into an essential Seattle performing arts organization. The company has an annual budget of $2 million, a full-time staff of 13, and a thriving education program.
Mission Statement
Book-It Repertory Theatre produces four to five world-premiere mainstage adaptations of classic and contemporary literature each year, and includes a robust Arts & Education Program that serves nearly 50,000 Puget Sound area students annually.
