Mission Statement
Bread of Life runs a Soup Kitchen in downtown Augusta, Maine. Bread of Life serves between 100 and 150 sit-down and take-home meals per weekday, or about 26,000 to 39,000 meals per year. Bread of Life has two shelters serving the Capital region in Augusta, Maine. Our family and individual shelter is a 40 bed facility, while our Veterans Shelter has bed space for 14 men. Bread of Life Shelter provides a structured program where people work with an onsite case manager throughout the week toward goals such as permanent housing, education and employment, all while addressing the underlying reasons for their homelessness.
