Bridgehaven Pregnancy Support Center

Bridgehaven is a non-profit pregnancy resource center which empowers women, men and families to make positive and healthy choices. Bridgehaven provides sexual risk avoidance education to schools, churches, and community organizations to help students form healthy boundaries in relationships. The agency also provides education and compassionate support to clients dealing with an unintended pregnancy through free ultrasound and pregnancy tests, options discussions, and support. In addition, Bridgehaven offers hope and healing to those struggling with a past abortion experience, through a recovery class led by post-abortive facilitators. Through the Earn While You Learn program, Bridgehaven offers on-going support to women and families through life skills classes and material assistance, including food, personal care items, formula and diapers. Treasures Quality Resale Shoppe, located at 405 Eighth Avenue SE (next door to Bill's Brothers) is a major funding stream for Bridgehaven and is open to the public. We accept donations of clothes, books, games, toys, small furniture & appliances, housewares, and home decorating items. All proceeds support Bridgehaven.

Throughout the ministry's 36-year history, Bridgehaven's primary goal continues to be to empower choices for life. Bridgehaven has expanded services over the years offering ultrasound in addition to our pregnancy testing, life skills classes and material assistance. The ministry also added prevention services, offering sexual health and relationship education in the community. Services expanded to include abortion-recovery classes to help deal with the painful and sometimes overwhelming feelings in the months or years after abortion. We offer confidential support groups as well as mentoring one-on-one support.

The flood of 2008 was a turning point for Bridgehaven. The ministry continued to provide services to clients from five different temporary sites in the city. In February of 2009, Bridgehaven returned to our newly redesigned building, which makes better use of the space and provides a more confidential environment for pregnancy testing. In 2011, Bridgehaven began offering ultrasound services and in 2013, Bridgehaven launched it's Men's Ministry, offering Fatherhood classes as well as support to male partners who accompany their spouse or girlfriends for a pregnancy test or ultrasound.

The Derecho of 2020 left our building on Center Point Road uninhabitable. In early 2021, Bridgehaven relocated to leased space at 4250 Glass Road NE to continue offering compassion service, hope and healing to women and families in the community.
