Brooke Grove Retirement Village is a continuing care retirement community offering independent and assisted living, nursing care, Alzheimer's/Memory Support, and rehabilitation. Our mission statement - We Touch People's Lives - is exhibited every day by our staff and volunteers.Our state-of-the-art rehab facility opened inApril 2017. Thisfacility "touches people's lives" by offering healing spaces to promote rehabilitation in addition to excellent healthcare.

Volunteers play a vital role at Brooke Grove. We seek compassionate and friendly individuals who enjoy working with elderly residents. This requires patience, dedication and flexibility. Volunteers typically say that they have received far more than they have given, in terms of friendships, relationships and general life lessons.

Volunteers are involved in various ways, such as with our LIFE enrichment program, seven days a week. Activities may include assisting with crafts, entertainment, games, one-on-one visits, outings, reading, walking, hand massage, manicures, parties and special events. There are a range of other positions that provide opportunities to volunteer as dining & hospitality aides or dining assistantsduring meal times, helping themaintenance team with grounds work, doing administrative tasks, transporting residents for salon appointments, and more.

While we do our best to match volunteer interests with assignments, the days and hours that volunteers are available willdetermine what roles are available to each individual.

Student Service Learning (SSL) activities take place in public settingsand documentation is provided for students toreport the hours they have volunteered. People having disabilities are encouraged to become volunteers; there is a role for everyone having an interest in volunteering.

Volunteer Orientation, required before volunteering at Brooke Grove, is held the last Tuesday of each month (except December) from 6:30 - 8pm.Please email[email protected] to be put on the list for an upcoming orientation.
