About

The Brown County Humane Society is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the homeless pets of Brown County. We are a progressive, open-admission shelter, accepting any cat or dog in Brown County, regardless of health, age, or breed.
No animals are euthanized at BCHS unless they are suffering and beyond care or considered to be a danger to the community and beyond rehabilitation. BCHS has been nationally recognized as an example of a highly successful rural shelter and regularly achieves a 98% or higher save rate.

Little Shelter, Big Results.
