About

Started by a mother of a special needs child Jen Kuyt fully understands the financial burden and family sacrifices that come with the territory. From her life experiences she understands what its like to work with children at their level and abilities. By combining her life long passion for felines along with the understanding and compassion for people she had a desire to reach out and create Country Cat Lady for others. CCL should not be look at as an alternative to traditional therapeutic options but a support system to the client and family where we can work on goals already established for the clients needs. Supporting occupation therapy, speech therapy, mental health awareness and more. Our goal is support others with understanding and unconditional love one purr at a time.

Mission Statement

We rescue young kitten litters and hand raise them to become therapy cats. These cats live in cage free rooms, are altered, not declawed and up to date on vaccinations. They are used in a number of different ways to support our community members both at our facility and visiting others. We focus on, but not limited to, children with special needs, foster kids, high risk youth, citizens in assisted living homes, nursing homes, and hospice.

We periodically have cats available for adoption from kittens, adolescents andadults.

Our volunteers help us exist in the communityby working with kittens on therapy training, basic cat care and cleaning to helping with clients at the center and on visits.

We are fully supported by volunteers and funded by donations to keep our animals healthy and ready to support the community.
