About

Volunteers are one of the main cogs that move Feeding America Southwest Virginia. FASWVA has been fighting hunger and changing lives through community partnerships since it began in 1981. The Food Bank is an affiliate member of Feeding America. The Food Banks ultimate mission has remained the same: eliminate hunger in the region. The primary function of the Food Bank is to secure large quantities of food for the hungry. The food is channeled through a network of more than 350partner feeding programs in our 26-county, 9city region that provide food or meals to those in need.

Our mission is to feed Southwest Virginia's hungry through a network of partners and engage our region in the fight to end hunger.
