About

In 1957, a small group of church women began a ministry to the families in a poor Dalton neighborhood. By 1958, Friendship House was established to serve the needs of neighborhood children and their families. Friendship House established a kindergarten, a mother's club, scout troops and a summer program. Friendship House moved to a new neighborhood and transformed into a full-time child care program. Friendship House is located at 1300 S. Hamilton Street in a state-of-the-art facility offering preschool education and care for children six weeks to five years of age. Currently, we can provide care for our 93 children from6:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Mission Statement

Friendship House offers a comprehensive program with a developmentally appropriate curriculum and the Georgia State Lottery Pre-K. Friendship House is nationally accredited through NAYEC and we maintain the highest Quality Rated standard with three stars. One of our requirements is that parents must either work or attend school full time for their child to be enrolled; however, weekly tuition is based on the ability to pay.
