Our Mission:

To promote the fine arts through educational programs and exhibits, provide meeting facilities for educational clubs, and honor the legacy of the Heard and Craig families through the preservation of the historic properties.



Mission Statement

The Heard-Craig Center for the Arts is comprised of the Heard-Craig House, the Carriage House, and Katie's Garden. The Heard-Craig House, built in 1900, is one of the most beautifully preserved historic homes in North Texas. The gracious hospitality of S. D. Heard, his wife Lillie, daughter Kathryn, and son, Fred, made this residence a center of social, business, art and literary activities. Extensive Art Work from various regional and national artists. Familymemorabilia and furniture remain in the home today.


The Heard-Craig Center for the Arts continues the family legacy of opening its doors to serve the public by providing educational programs, extending meeting facilities for educational and historic clubs, and preserving and displaying collections through curatedExhibits.

A sample of our activities and events include: PATTERNS Exhibit, Victorian Secrets Exhibit, ART MEETS FLORAL public exhibit, Fresh Look: A Woodworking Extravaganza, Forever Stylish Exhibit, Art On Porcelain exhibit, Art History Lectures featuring Dr. Clair Robertson of Collin College, and many different art workshops and educational Club workshops.The organizationcontinues itslegacy of fine arts collaboration across the DFW Region.
