Homestead Community Land Trust

Homestead Community Land Trustbuilds homes so that the everyday heroes of King County -- including first-responders, teachers, health-care workers, grocery clerks, and social workers among others -- can live and thrive in the communities they make great. Through permanently affordable homeownership our families achieve an affordable housing payment that accrues equity, and the stability which becomes the foundation upon which to build their dreams. Through this program we build new homes, we fundraise to reduce the price of homes to what is affordable to modest-income families; we make and keep homes affordable through partnerships with our owners, and we support homeowner success. Our mission is to preserve and advance access to permanently affordable homeownership as a means to create thriving, equitable and inclusive communities.

Partnering with modest income households (who earn less than 80% area median income), we have created the largest portfolio of permanently affordable homes in Washington State. Withover 25 years in service to the Puget Sound area, Homestead combines housing development with counseling, education, and other support activities to create a growing inventory of permanently affordable homes and a community of successful homeowners. Every home we develop and sell at an affordable price to an income-qualified buyer is kept affordable to all future buyers through the community land trust.
