The 55th Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, founded as an Intl Film Society in 1961 is the oldest Independent Film Festival in the world, and the oldest Indie International Film Festival in North America, after San Francisco and New York.

We have 10 major categories of competition, Features, Shorts, Documentaries, Business Films, Experimental, TV Production, Screenplays, New Media, Music Video, Student and TV Commercials.

Dates for 2022 are April 27-31, and we will premiere more than 100 new Shorts and Features from all over the world. All screenings are open to the general public and all shows are at the Cinemark Theatres in Memorial City Mall. We Do Not need Day Volunteers during the actual event, as that is fully covered by our regular full-time interns as a special reward for all their good work! This year, due to Covid, it has been shortened to 5 days!

For 2022 we will continue our 8th Annual Panorama Asia, with more than 10 new films from Asia &Beijing, with their directors in person. It is the largest Spotlight on new films from all of Asia and China in the festival world! Most of the films are introduced personally by their Directors! There is usually a Q&A session after the film premiere. Come and See!

WorldFest-Houston discovered Spielberg, George Lucas, Francis Ford Coppola, Ang Lee, Ridley Scott, The Coen Brothers, Randal Kleiser, John Lee Hancock, Brian de Palma, David Lynch, Atom Egoyan and hundreds more with their first honors and awards.

We are an International Film & Video Festival, but basically office and computer skills are needed. Lots to do and different almost every time. We need full-time volunteers from December through May of each festival year. Especially Jan-May

Nice office setting in SW Houston, free parking, great working conditions. We need long-term volunteer staff Interns, and we can use full time, or the Adopt-A-Day program where you sign up for 1, 2 or more days a week. We do not need any volunteers for just one or two days during the film festival, as that is covered by our regular staff volunteer Interns.
