HYU Spiritual Life & Learning Society
Organization Details
About
This all began in Caxito, Angola, Afrika 2009. The big idea was to establish an organization to end poverty. At the time the idea was conceived the thought was that poverty could be alleviated by freedom. Freedom is the ability to pursue eternal health, wealth and knowledge without the mental, physical, and psychological bondage of poverty. The original intent was to begin this organization as an international cooperative. A cooperative allows a business to be owned and operated by the people it serves. The cooperative would offer the following:
Holistic healthcare | Economic and spiritual development | Cultural, Environmental consciousness
Continuing with the original intent, HYU Spiritual Life & Learning Society (HYU) is an independent, self-supported, Universal, Spiritual Temple established to acknowledge the Creator and restore the original, ancient, spiritual way of life. We embrace the Kamatic & Yoruba spiritual systems, Seven Principles of Nguzo Saba, Seven Cardinal Virtues of Maat & Seven Universal Laws so that we are prepared to promote unity within self, family, community and nation. We offer a sacred space & safe haven to restore a spiritual foundation for knowing the self through: "The Way: Study of Self," Ethical Teaching & resources for self-mastery, Community for spiritual ceremony & initiation, cooperative opportunities.
