John L Gildner - Regional Institute For Children & Adolescents (RICA)

John L. Gildner RICA-Rockville is a community-based public residential treatment and educational facility serving children and adolescents, ages 10-18, with severe emotional disabilities. JLG-RICA's goal is to successfully return its students to their families, communities, and neighborhood schools so they can lead happy and successful lives. JLG-RICA is an inter-agency program operated by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Montgomery County Public Schools. Our mission is to provide the best possible patient care and education to all students and their families.

We welcome volunteers as tutors, mentors and also mentors with dogs to help with our residential students. We would like our volunteer to commit to the school year from September to June. The volunteers will need to be available in the evening from 4 - 5 pm for one hour a week on Tuesday - Thursday.
