About
Junior Achievement of Northern California invites volunteers to mentor K–12 students through engaging, standards-aligned programs, which can be in person, virtually, or via a blended format, that bring real-world financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work-readiness skills into the classroom. The volunteer process is straightforward: sign up, coordinate your schedule with a Program Manager, participate in a short training session, and then inspire and guide students by sharing your personal and professional experiences. Volunteers enjoy flexible placement based on location, time availability, grade level, and preferred delivery method, and can also extend their impact as one-on-one JA Workforce coaches supporting young adults in career development.
Mission Statement
At Junior Achievement (JA), we believe in "possible." Each day, we work to help young people discover what's possible in their lives. We do this by helping them connect what they learn in school with life outside the classroom. We let them know it's possible to invest in their future, to gain a better understanding of how the world works, and to pursue their dreams. We show them that it's possible for tomorrow to be a better day.
Junior Achievement of Northern California inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy by becoming financially literate, workforce-ready, and armed with an entrepreneurial mindset. JA's suite of grade-specific programs are designed to be interactive and utilize a blended-learning approach that enables students to apply their learnings to life inside and outside of school. All JA K-12th grade program curricula focus on three important factors for 21st century success: financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.
