Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN) Greater DC

KEEN Greater DC is a nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one exercise and recreational opportunities for children & young adults with developmental and physical disabilities.

What is unique about KEEN?
1. We accept every child regardless of his/her ability or disability.
2. All KEEN programs are run and managed by committed volunteers.

Our programs are completely free of charge to the athletes and their families.Our Mission:Empower youth with disabilities and impact volunteer coaches through participation in free, non-competitive, one-on-one programs of physical activity and fun, supporting the overall health and well-being of all participants.Our Vision:Create communities in which individuals with disabilities have equal opportunities for recreation, fitness, and friendship; provide families with respite and a supportive network; foster a lifelong commitment to positive change for volunteers through their engagement with KEEN athletes; develop partnerships to actively promote disability awareness.

All of KEEN's programs are based on a single principle: pair a trained volunteer with an athlete (a child, teen or young adult with disabilities) and let them discover together how much they can do. Programs are all open and unstructured, allowing athletes facing significant challenges to have fun and be successful.

KEEN provides volunteer training immediately prior to each session.
