About

Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity builds new homes and renovates older homes in partnership with families in need and community volunteers.

Each family contributes hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" - time spent hard at work building or renovating their own homes or a future neighbor's home. Volunteers provide labor to ensure the low cost and affordability of the home.

Habitat has served over 200 families in Lancaster County since 1986. Habitat has built or renovated 126 homes and improved 72 homes in Lancaster and across the county in Ephrata, Elizabethtown, Quarryville, Columbia, Denver, and Mount Joy. Habitat is seeking real estate throughout the city and county for future builds and rehabilitation.

Prior to its union with Lancaster Habitat, Habitat for Humanity of Lebanon County served its residents by renovating or repairing more than 50 existing homes. The organization was founded by a group of local church leaders and business people in 1990 and has worked in partnership with the community to build decent, affordable houses for low-income partner families who sought a place to call home.

We believe that everyone has the right to live in a safe, decent home. Affordable housing is a crisis in Lancaster and Lebanon County - over 10,000 families are in need of housing choices. By working together, we can make a difference for hard-working families, seniors, and the disabled for whom the goal of owning an affordable, decent home often seems out of reach.

Mission Statement

Lancaster Lebanon Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities.
