Founded in 1958, we are a 501(c)(3) privately-funded charitable organization that provides a wide range of animal welfare services to the community. MCHS rescues cats and dogs from overcrowded shelters throughout the region and provides them with expert care, veterinary treatments and other types of care to help them find their "furever" homes. We provide humane education to the community, have educational events, and we need volunteers to help us carry on our life-saving work. From animal handling to fund-raising, we are dedicated to improving the lives of companion animals in our community. MCHS also operates a thrift store, Humane Together Thrift and Gift, on E. Gude Drive -- all of the proceeds go to MCHS.
