About

Our Executive Director, Dr. Quincy D. Citizen, Ph.D. founded National Alliance for Mental Health & Substance Abuse Recovery (NAMHSAR), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, after discovering a major and concerning inadequacy inmental health and substance abuse recovery treatment resources.which We strive to attempt to mitigate this issue by offering TeleMentalHealth/TeleMedicine and/or phone sessions, allowing us to extend services to rural areas where the issue is even worse, a national suicide/crisis hotline equipped to refer patients in need to inpatient and outpatient facilities around the nation who receive federal SAMHSA funding for treatment of patients who are uninsured or underinsured, a local veteran's assistance program in cooperation with DeBakey VA, a Free Narcan Distribution Program, needle exchange program, and a Homeless Outreach Program. Our mission is "providing a pathway of recovery to all, while combating the stigma of mental health through education and inspiration," and we heavily rely on valuable volunteers like you to continue to expand and fulfill this! Our motto is "we are the difference who will make a difference. I sincerely appreciate you taking interest in becoming a part of our team!
