Penn's Village

Penns Village (PV) is a community-based nonprofit organization, formed in 2008, operated by and for neighborhood residents, that exists to support residents of central Philadelphia as they age in place. PV is based on the innovative Village model that now exists internationally in over 200 communities. PV was the first Village in the Philadelphia area. The mission of PV is to assist older neighbors to live independently in their own homes in central Philadelphia by providing caring services and programs that increase social engagement through a network of volunteers.

PV helps older adults, and younger disabled persons, remain living independently, in their own homes, in their familiar neighborhoods by connecting neighbors to neighbors through volunteer-provided personal and home maintenance services such as errands, companionship, transportation, etc.; educational and cultural programs; community resources and services including PV's vetted providers; specialized services such as a caregiver support group; and more.
