REACH, Inc. (Reading Enriches All Children)

Bingo Fundraisers: We are in need of volunteers each week for our Sunday Bingo Fundraiser at Bingo Palace in Virginia Beach. Volunteers must meet the minimum requirements with a valid state ID. We do encourage volunteers to select specific weeks (example: every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month) to ensure coverage.
Special Event Volunteers: Volunteers will need to actively engage with people who approach the table to discuss REACH, Inc.'s mission, pass out informational flyers, and distribute free books. Volunteers will assist with set-up at the beginning and takedown at the end of the event. Volunteers will move books and need to be able to lift 10-30 lbs, capable of bending, squatting, and standing. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (sneakers/tennis shoes). The majority of the project will require a lot of walking, sitting, and standing. Bookstore Volunteers: REACH has launched a FREE bookstore in JANAF Shopping Yard, and we need volunteers to greet and assist the families and children who visit. Volunteers will also assist with REACH merchandise sales, as well as restocking small bookshelves with new and used books provided on-site. Warehouse Volunteers: Volunteers assisting with moving books will need to be able to lift 10-30 lbs, capable of bending, squatting, and standing. Volunteers stickering books will need to be able to sort, pack, and sticker books. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes (sneakers/tennis shoes). The majority of the project will require a lot of walking, sitting, and standing.

REACH’s mission is to promote literacy for children who are at-risk and homeless throughout Coastal Virginia.

- Promoting reading comprehension and writing skills in collaboration with community partners.
- Providing the largest number of new and gently loved books to our community.
-Providing progressive literacy resources through continued access to books and programs.
