Ronald McDonald House Dallas

Keeping families together, inspiring strength, and giving love and support to families whose children are receiving essential medical care. In an effort to lessen the burden, reduce stress, keep the family intact, and enhance the quality of life for these families, Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) provides temporary housing in a caring, home-like atmosphere. Ronald McDonald House program was built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night to rest. RMHD is keeping families together, inspiring strength, and giving love and support to families whose children are receiving essential medical care. We also run The Ronald McDonald Family Room, located on the 4th Floor of Scottish Rite for Children Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center in Frisco. A Ronald McDonald Family Room offers a special place of respite, relaxation and privacy within the walls of health care institutions. It provides a small oasis of calm and normalcy within the tense, chaotic, medical setting yet parents are just steps from their childs bedside.

With approximately 78,000 square feet, the House offers 77 private bedrooms, six extended-stay suites, and six transplant apartments. Additionally, the House contains multiple playrooms for kids of all ages and interests, a library, media room, craft room, chapel, meditation garden, and outdoor play areas. Two large communal kitchens and dining room provide opportunities for the families to share the evening meal, which is provided three times a day by community volunteers, or to prepare their own food if they choose. Hundreds of volunteer's support Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (RMHD) annual operations and fundraising activities by serving families at the House, preparing meals, and hosting organized activities.
