About
The ATC was founded in 1925 by volunteers and federal officials working to build a continuous footpath along the Appalachian Mountains. A unit of the National Park System, the A.T. ranges from Maine to Georgia and is approximately 2,190 miles in length. The Appalachian Trail is a place of life changing discovery.

Mission Statement
ATC convenes and connects A.T. maintaining clubs and individuals with interest in volunteering with opportunities to care for the iconic Appalachian Trail. ATC serves as a clearinghouse for civic engagement by people like you, sharing hundreds of opportunities found along the length of the Trail annually at www.appalachiantrail.org/waystovolunteer.
