Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

History of the Stevens Point Salvation Army~ Hope Center

Our latest presence began in 1989! We first opened a shelter on Fremont St. in 1991 and have been in our current location since 1996. Our current building dated back to the 1950's when the Catholic Brothers were here, then it was used for the Catholic School Board.

Mission Statement

Here at The Bread of Life - Hope Center, we provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Our shelter offers housing, meals, and basic hygiene resources to those in need. Beyond immediate relief, we also provide support in numerous ways including case management, job search, substance abuse counseling, and referrals to other essential services. Our goal is to help individuals transition from homelessness to a stable, long-term housing and a successful future.
