About
As the oldest and largest Therapeutic Riding Program in Minnesota, We Can Ride has been changing lives since 1982. Our mission is to connect humans and horses to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities and meet the evolving needs of our greater community. Its not about what disabilities or challenges our riders face but rather what their abilities are and how they can be discovered through therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities.
Mission Statement
Volunteers are an integral part of We Can Ride. Volunteers help in lessons such as Sidewalkers for the clients, Leaders of the Horses, and Barn Aides to prepare the horses for classes. All new volunteers attend orientation and a hands-on training session to prepare for volunteering with us. No experience working with people with disabilities and special needs or horses is required since we provide training. Our lessons run all year.
We also need volunteers year-round for office tasks, special events, fundraising, barn maintenance, and feeding our herd. The minimum age to volunteer with us is 14 (18 to feed the horses). For more information and to register, visit our websitewww.wecanride.org.
