Women's Center Volunteer

The Women's Center Volunteer plays an important role in carrying out the organization's mission to empower girls and women. They help sort and organize incoming donations, maintain a clean donation center, keep track of inventory, and assist with other related tasks.

Who: The Thaddeus Resource Center is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to restore HOPE, inspire GROWTH, and EMPOWER girls and women through education, life skill development, workforce training, and other supportive services. What to Expect: 

Donation Sorting: 

• Assist in sorting and categorizing donated items (clothing, household goods, etc.). 
• Ensure items are in good condition and ready for distribution. 

Inventory Management: 

• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing donations. 
• Help track inventory levels and restock as needed. 

Client Assistance: 

• Assist clients in selecting items from the donation center. 
• Provide a welcoming and respectful environment. 

Drive Coordination: 

• Participate in donation drives (food, clothing, hygiene products, etc.). 
• Help organize and promote community collection events. 

Collaboration: 

• Work closely with other volunteers and staff members. 
• Attend team meetings and contribute to donation center improvements.

  • Sensitivity to the needs of those seeking assistance. 
• Organizational Skills: 
  • Attention to detail in sorting and managing donations. 
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized donation center. 

Responsibilities:  

• Participate in Thaddeus Resource Center in-person events.  
• Sort and organize incoming donations: clothes, toys, and other essential items.  
• Greet clients when they arrive at the women's center.  
• Assist in unloading incoming donations and ensure items are in good condition and ready for distribution.  
• Maintain a clean and organized donation center. 
• Help track inventory levels and restock as needed. 
• Assist in any immediate service or related projects if required.  
• Help clean up the on-site location at the end of each day.  

Requirements: 

• Ability to interact with diverse client population in a respectful manner.  
• Attention to detail when sorting and organizing donations.  
• Commitment to our organization's missions and values.  
• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and stand for extending periods.  

Time Commitment:  

• One shift a week (4hrs) between the hours of 9am-4pm  
• 6 months minimum
