Venice MainStreet

Venice MainStreet, Inc is a 501(c)3 that strives to collaborate with the City of Venice, and other community groups, to preserve and enhance the historic character of Venice, while, also promoting and encouraging the economic and community vitality of Venice. This is achieved by bringing interesting events to attract visitors and to enhance the lifestyle of our local residents, as well as investing in amenities and infrastructure in Historic Downtown Venice. Venice MainStreet encourages supporting business and community partners to be involved in the direction of the organization by participating in committees and the Board of Directors.

Projects include downtown bike racks; creating shopvenicefl.com online marketplace; Centennial Park information kiosk; light pole banners and Christmas lights for the downtown district; murals; Downtown Ambassadors; and maintaining downtown beautification projects.

Events include Friday Night Concerts; Sharks Tooth Festival; Downtown Venice Craft Festival; Christmas in July; children’s Halloween Parade and many others.

Another important volunteer component of Venice MainStreet is the amazing group of 60+ volunteers called the Downtowners. They staff the information kiosk in Centennial Park and walk the historic district’s avenues greeting visitors, giving out brochures, and answering questions. You can typically spot their lime green shirts and friendly faces six days a week, Mondays through Saturdays from 11am to 2pm, during season.

Without our amazing volunteers, Venice MainStreet could not live up to its mission of enhancing the quality of life in our community by promoting Historic Downtown Venice!
