DEFEND is looking for dedicated HR Generalists and Volunteer Coordinators to join our HR Team. As a part of this team, you will support DEFEND’s personnel needs, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, training, and volunteer engagement. This role is ideal for individuals interested in a flexible, part-time, or casual opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities

  • Personnel Management: Address and manage personnel issues, including handling resignations and disciplinary actions for volunteers who do not adhere to DEFEND’s code of conduct.
  • Exit Surveys & Team Transfers: Conduct exit surveys for departing team members and facilitate smooth transfers between teams.
  • Policy Development: Assist in creating HR policies that align with DEFEND’s needs and organizational goals.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to DEFEND’s Committee or Board on recruitment strategies and any personnel-related challenges.
  • Committee Support Program: Help develop and oversee the Committee Support Program, assigning Committee Members as support contacts for volunteers.
  • Recruitment Analysis: Monitor volunteer recruitment trends and advise the Committee Chair on effective recruitment strategies.

Qualifications

  • Experience in human resources, volunteer coordination, or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive personnel matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work effectively in a remote environment.
  • A genuine interest in DEFEND’s mission to make online spaces safer.
