About this Opportunity
Brief Organizational Description:
Living Water Community Center is located in the Forest View area. Our mission is to cultivate a healthy community through contemplative practices like mindful beekeeping, urban farming, yoga, and meditation.
Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
We work together in the community garden on Thursday afternoons from 10 am until 1 pm (in spring and summer) or 1 pm until 4 pm (in fall and winter). Garden days can include care of the kitchen garden, which supports our food pantry. They may also include care of the many flowering plants and trees that make up our bee sanctuary. If you enjoy being outdoors and caring for plants, this will be a good day for you, and we'd love to have you join us.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks can include planting, weeding, raking, or any gardening task that suits the individual.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
We can teach you anything you need to know. All are welcome.
Time Commitment:
We choose our tasks at 10 am or 1 pm, so that is the ideal time to arrive, but even that is flexible. You are welcome for an hour or the entire afternoon.
