Brief Organizational Description:

Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Help the YMCA prevent drowning in our community by becoming a Swimbassador! As a Swimbassador, you’ll be a dedicated volunteer advocating for water safety education and increasing access to swim lessons through your time and talents.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Join our team of certified swim instructors and play a vital role in the YMCA’s signature water safety event. You’ll provide hands-on support in the water, helping children and families gain essential swimming skills and ensuring they have a safe, fun-filled summer.
Be a dry land Swimbassador in Child Watch helping with coloring pages, as a greeter the day of the events as families come in or on deck support when lessons are held.

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
Background check, child abuse prevention video, sign a volunteer wiaver all done online. A link will be emailed to you from the Y once you register.
Time Commitment:
May 19-25
Swimbassador opportunities are available Monday–Thursday (5:00–8:00 PM), Friday (5:30–7:00 PM), and Saturday & Sunday (8:30 AM–1:30 PM). Commit to one or all! Please select your availability in the designated section.
Other Information (if applicable):
- Daily Orientations are included in the selected timeframes.
- In-water volunteers, should come prepared with their swimsuit and towel.
- Bottled water will be provided.
