Nutrition Center Assistant

We are looking for volunteers to work 2-4 hr shifts in the food pantry M 12p-3:30, Tu, Th, Fri 9a-2p. Duties include stocking and organizing shelves, distributing food, performing client intakes, and assisting with any on going activities. Having basic computer skills and the ability to lift 25 lbs is helpful, but reasonable accommodations can always be made if you are interested in helping out! Being bilingual is a plus!! The majority of our guests are Hispanic/Latino, however we often also have pantry guests who speak Arabic, French, Vietnamese, and Portuguese. We do require that all volunteers pass a CORI check. We do have a small parking lot on site with handicap parking and a ramp. We have a overflow parking lot that is a short walk to our building. There is a bus stop across the street and a second one that is about a two minute walk from us. During your time here you will be primarily working with the Nutrition Center Coordinator, Erin Quaiel. You may have times where you maybe working with other volunteers or clients of the residential program also run by Jeremiah's Inn. Time Commitment: 4 hours per week. Mondays 11:30am-4:00pm Tuesdays 10:30 am-2:30 pm Fridays 8:30 am-11:30 am The hours we need assistance are constantly changing. If you can not commit to these times or to volunteering regularly I can always put you on our "on call" list as well!
Requested length of service: We love to have long term volunteers that become familiar faces to our pantry guests but we are thankful for anytime anyone is willing to help us with the work we are doing here!
