About this Opportunity

Senior Meals Program seeking Substitute Volunteers throughout Lane County!

Senior Meals Program (Café 60 / Meals on Wheels) helps people age 60 and older maintain their independence by providing food, friendship, and safety checks.

Locations include: Eugene, Springfield, Coburg, Cottage Grove, Creswell, Florence, Junction City, Oakridge, Veneta

Substitute Volunteers provide back-up coverage. Substitute Volunteers do not work a regular weekly volunteer shift, but work when a regularly scheduled volunteer is unavailable.This is a great opportunity for people who want to volunteer but do not wish to commit to a regular once per week schedule. 

Options for Substitute Volunteers: 

  • Available same day - Substitute Volunteer who is available to provide same or next day shift coverage when regularly scheduled volunteer is out unexpectedly, such as medical reason or calls in sick.
  • Pre-scheduled shift - Substitute Volunteer who is available to provide shift coverage for a regularly scheduled volunteer when they have planned leave.
  • Tasks of Substitute Volunteers

    • Kitchen Tasks - Packaging, portioning & clean-up. No cooking!
    • Meal Delivery - Drive your own vehicle + mileage reimbursement.
    • Weekdays 
    • Background check required.
