About this Opportunity
Who We Are:
LSA Family Health Service, founded by the Little Sisters of the Assumption, strengthens and empowers vulnerable families and children by meeting their basic needs for food, healthcare, education and a safe home, in the belief that affirming families in their own dignity improves the entire community.
The Sharing Place Thrift Store is Upper Manhattan's destination for new and gently used, high-quality clothing, shoes, and housewares at very low prices. Our neighbors tell us that The Sharing Place gives them the opportunity to shop with dignity, even with a tight budget, while also gaining awareness of other programs at LSA. It's a warm, welcoming place where neighbors shop, meet and socialize.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Sort clothing and other donated items
- Tag items appropriately
- Put clothing on racks and help set up the sales floor
- Assist customers and community members with their shopping
- Assist staff with other tasks that may arise
