About this Opportunity

Victory Programs has helped individuals and families in crisis for 50 years. Some 5,250 people turn to us yearly for shelter, sustenance, recovery, care, and professional, compassionate support. The individuals and families we serve across our 30 programs are unhoused or precariously housed, most of whom struggle with substance use, have mental health concerns, and/or live with chronic health issues like HIV/AIDS. When other organizations will not or cannot take them in, we do. Volunteers will work with the The Victory Programs Mobile Prevention Team. This team provides street-based interventions to prevent overdoses, mitigate infectious disease, and keep folks healthy. Volunteers will be donating their time to help assemble harm-reduction kits for the Mobile Prevention Team out on the street helping those in need. Kits can include sterile syringes, Narcan, wound care supplies, and condoms. These kits help to save lives as the sterile syringe kits alone provide individuals with supplies that will cause the least vein damage and prevent sharing of any supplies to reduce HIV/HCV risk. At the very least, these kits open the door for a conversation with members of the community so staff members can help connect them with the resources they need.
