About this Opportunity

Join NMDP at Ride the Brainwave 🚴‍♂️💙

NMDP is excited to be part of Ride the Brainwave, a powerful community event dedicated to making a difference for patients and families affected by serious illnesses. We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us raise awareness, grow the registry, and support an incredible local family.

📍 Location: Sandy City Promenade
📅 Dates: June 12–13, 2026

Event Hours:

  • Friday, June 12: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

  • Saturday, June 13: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM

This event is an opportunity to impact the lives of patients around the world who have been diagnosed with blood cancers and blood diseases. It's also a chance to show your support for Utah searching patient Kiri and his family, who are working to raise awareness about the critical need for more potential donors on the NMDP Registry.

As a volunteer, you'll help engage with attendees, share NMDP's mission, and invite individuals to take a simple but potentially life-saving step by joining the registry through a quick cheek swab.

Every conversation has the potential to change a life. By helping grow the registry, you're increasing the chances that patients like Kiri—and thousands of others—can find the match they need.

🌟 Volunteer Roles Include:

  • Welcoming and engaging with event attendees

  • Sharing information about NMDP and the importance of blood stem cell donation

  • Assisting individuals through the simple registration process

  • Supporting Kiri's family by helping spread awareness of their search for a donor

  • Creating a positive, energetic, and inspiring event experience

Each year, thousands of patients diagnosed with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma depend on finding a matching donor for a second chance at life. For more than 30 years, NMDP has managed the world's most diverse marrow registry, connecting patients with the life-saving donors they need.

Ready to make an impact and stand alongside Kiri and his family?

👉 Sign up to volunteer at Ride the Brainwave and help bring hope to patients waiting for their match.
