About this Opportunity
Volunteers are needed to get our children back on track. Tutoring is needed for students in elementary - high school with homework in core courses to help them get caught up from falling behind and to improve their confidence, grades, and test scores.
Why: Your efforts to Tutor and Mentor underserved children will give them one-on-one assistance with homework and core courses to help them catch up from falling behing and grasp learning concepts to improve their confidence, grades, and test scores.
Who: Joseph Learning Lab's educational outreach organization is a nonprofit 501(c)(3). We tutor and mentor underserved children, who are being left behind the learning curve. We are on a mission to close the learning gap, reduce the dropout rate, and develop students of all ages and diverse backgrounds by allowing them an equal opportunity for learning and personal growth.
What to Expect: Tutors are needed after school for 1.5hrs between 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm to help underserved children with homework and core courses.
- Volunteers should have education & skills working with children elementary - high school level.
- Virtual sessions are being done (in-person is an option).
- Orientation/training and an application, tutor screening and background check process is needed.
