About this Opportunity

 

As a Database Architect / Modeler on the Database Team, you’ll play a crucial role in designing and structuring the 65square database to support this innovative social media platform. You’ll work closely with a team of developers, distributing the workload to ensure efficient progress and effective solutions. This volunteer role offers a unique opportunity to shape the backend of a platform that could redefine social media safety.

While this position is currently volunteer-based, there is potential for it to transition into a paid role as the project advances.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design the database structure, building from UI designs to ensure functionality and scalability.
  • Work alongside a team of four database developers to distribute tasks and optimize workflow.
  • Create efficient database models that support the unique features of 65square, including age and identity verification.
  • Identify and troubleshoot potential issues within the database structure, ensuring reliability and security.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of database designs, models, and workflows to support ongoing development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a database architect, modeler, or similar role.
  • Skilled in creating complex database models, with a strong understanding of relational databases.
  • Able to work effectively with a remote development team, sharing tasks and insights.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Interest in contributing to a project aimed at protecting children and vulnerable individuals online.
