Volunteer Position Description and Purpose:
Volunteers are integral for the mobile food distribution as they sort, pack and deliver food to the vehicles of the community members in need.
Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities:
Setting up tables, moving and sorting food items, and delivering food items to the vehicles of the community members in need.
Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:
No special qualifications or skills needed.
Time Commitment:
10am-noon (2 hours)
Other Information (if applicable):
- The mobile food distribution occurs on the first Tuesday of the month, rain or shine, in the Ashland Junction Shopping Center, 167 Junction Drive, Ashland, VA 23005.
- Please park in the lot directly in front of the Roses store and walk over to the distribution space. Avoid parking in the area around the food distribution area
- Comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes are recommended. Layers are good because it is cool to start but you get hot while volunteering.
- A sign in sheet will be available the day of the program
- Orientation will occur at the beginning of the event
- The best thing you can bring is a smile to brighten someone’s day.
- Water will be provided
